Amisha Patel (birthday, date of birth June 9, 1976; height 5ft 4in) is the daughter of Amit Patel and Asha Patel, and the granddaughter of the famous Indian lawyer Rajni Patel. Her name is a blend of the first names of her parents.

Amisha is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer since the age of five. Ameesha entered films because of the friendship between Patel and Roshan families. Rakesh roshan, the producer of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was looking for a new heroine for his film to act with his new commer son Hrithik Roshan. So she got the role. This film made her a star overnight.

She has also modeled for well-known Indian brands like Fair & Lovely, Bajaj Sevashram, Lux, Cadburys, Jai Lime, Fem, etc.
