Rani Mukherji (previous name Rani Mukherjee (Rani Mukherjee height: 5ft 3in,1.60 m; birthday - date of birth 21 March 1978 is an important member of the Samarth-Mukherjee family/clan. Rani is the daughter of father Ram Mukherjee, a retired director and mother Krishna, a former playback singer. Her brother Raja Mukherjee is a film producer and director, and her cousin Kajol is an actress. She did her graduation from Maneckjee Cooper High School in Juhu, Mumbai.

Rani changed her surname from Mukherjee to Mukerji, probably due to numerological reasons.

There are unconfirmed reports that Rani Mukherjeeis engaged to Aditya Chopra, son of Yash Chopra and brother of actor Udai Chopra. According to a source close to the family, “The roka (pre to engagement) took place at the house of Chopras. Around 60 people (family and friends) attended The "roka" ceremony was attended by Rani’s parents Ram and Krishna Mukherjee, brother Raja and his wife, Yash Chopra and his wife Pamela Chopra, Udai Chopra and about 60 fzamily friends.”
