Sonakshi Sinha Biography

Sonakshi Sinha (birthday - date of birth 2 June 1987, height 5ft 6in, 1.80m) was born in Mumbai, India. Her father, Shatrughan Sinha is a famous actor and politician and her mother, Poonam Sinha runs a production house. Sonakshi has two brothers Luv and Kush.

“I've spent a lot of time in Bihar. Though I'm half-Sindhi, the Bihari side of me is also very strong. I used to spend a lot of time in Patna when my daadi was there." Sonakshi says.

Sonakshi is a fashion designer; designed costumes for movie Mera Dil Leke Deko in 2005. She started her career as a model. She walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion week in 2008 and 2009.

Sonakshi's first movie was "Dabbang" co-starring Salman Khan. The film became one of the highest grossing Bollywood films.

She received several prestigious Awards like Filmfare Award, Star Screen Awards, Zee Cine Award , Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards, Colors Global Awards etc for Best Debut Female 2011.

She says, "I am not open to doing item numbers. I am a very shy person, I cannot be so bold."
