Rikki Thukral (Abhishek Bachchan) born in Bhatinda, lives in London. Alvira Khan (Preity Zinta) (Pakistani blood) with Lahori blood in her veins also lives in London. Both are engaged and have come to London station to pick up their fiances from Birmingham. But the train is late by 2 hours. So both enter a crowded cafe and share one table. To kill time, they start telling their stories.
Rikki meets his fiance Anaida (Lara Dutta) at The Ritz (Paris). In the process of telling the stories, both Rikki and Alvira got attracted to each other, creating
a complicated quadrangle.
