Live TV

Delhi public viewed the first black & white television on Sept 15, 1959 from Doordarshan. After a gap of about 13 years, the second television station was established in Mumbai in 1972 and by 1975 there were five more television stations at Srinagar, Amritsar, Calcutta, Madras and Lucknow.

STAR Plus, BBC, MTV, Prime Sports and STAR Channel were started after 1992. Zee TV was the first private channel to broadcast over cable. Out of a few hundred channels in India now, the popular channels are Zee, Sony, Star, Set Max channels.

In India, people don't bother weather the channels can be viewd on PC or not because they watch them on cable. But for those living outside India, it is very useful for them.
